" My earliest memories were feeling the enchantment of theatre & cinema. I would gather my friends, find make-shift costumes & re-enact a drama seen from one shilling seats in the local ‘pictures’. Toy theatres & puppets followed & we would give performances, charging other ‘kids’ one penny for the privilege. I still have those puppets, worth today a great deal of money."

"Jemma is a graduate of Sussex University where she studied European Drama with French for three years and one year at the University of Bordeaux studying French Literature and Theatre. At University, she worked on and off-stage for many productions and discovered directing.
After graduating in 2004, she went straight into the Trainee Assistant Directors programme at The Kings Head Theatre. Here she assisted on many shows for the late, great Dan Crawford as well as for incoming companies. During and post her time at the Kings Head, Jemma was also an Associate Director of the lunchtime shows run by Elephant Theatre and the notorious and sorely missed Syd Golder. "
